Serena is a 14 year old girl who was recently diagnosed with Stage 2B Hodgkin's Lymphoma. In June of 2022, Serena was on a family vacation, in Florida, when she noticed a lump on her neck that was a bit sore. Once they arrived back home, Serena and her parents scheduled a visit to the pediatrician, where they thankfully did not brush it off as enlarged lymph-nodes. This led to blood work and a sonogram. From here, the family was sent to see an ENT, who gave Serena antibiotics to ensure that this was not from a past infection, but still scheduled an MRI.

This is where everything changed for Serena and her family. The MRI showed that Serena had several lymph-nodes that were intertwined and a biopsy was scheduled on August 15th. As soon as surgery began, the doctors knew that it was lymphoma. On August 16th, Serena and her family learned that she was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

"It didn’t feel real because up until this point and throughout the journey of my diagnosis, I was sure I was going to be fine and that the lump was insignificant. Sometimes you don’t think something like this will happen to you until It does. Though my diagnosis isn’t what I thought or hoped it will be, I still have confidence that I’ll come out of this ordeal just fine." - Serena
