Cancer...

Forever changed...

Forever grateful...

Forever hopeful...

On January 2nd, 2020, Leslie was officially diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Stage 2A after a routine Breast MRI. However, after undergoing two months of chemotherapy, Leslie, one of the very fortunate, had achieved full remission. She returned to work and had taken back my life from a new perspective. Then, over two years later, on November 1st, 2022, a routine mammogram and subsequent testing revealed a diagnosis of DCIS Stage Half Breast Cancer. Yes, a two-time cancer diagnosis in one lifetime is an unfortunate reality. No one should have to endure those words twice. But, once again, after a double mastectomy, Leslie can proudly say that she is cancer free!

“Joseph and Michelle - your work is simply amazing. You are defying the darkness that this terrible disease instills. You support the struggle this battle requires not only with true sincerity and tremendous generosity, but most of all, thoughtfulness. Your personalized missions for myself and for those that your foundation has benefitted thus far has left me inspired with hope and in the moment, absolutely speechless. I will always be forever grateful for your sheer kindness and I will always be beyond humbled for you to have thought of me.” – Leslie

After learning about Leslie’s desire for reading, Fightstrong made it a focus to gift Leslie a gift card for Barnes & Nobile and donate her other book accessories. We also learned more about her hair salon, which led us to donating her a gift card for her next few visits!

It's inspiring to hear that Leslie was able to beat cancer for the second time and is now cancer-free. Going through such a difficult experience can change one's perspective on life, and it's clear that Leslie has taken back her life from a new perspective.

We love you so much and we are so happy that you are CANCER FREE!
